Interactive Event Redesign Lab
Date: Tuesday, May 26
Time: 9:30am - 11:00am
Group: IFBSO
This isn't a lecture — it's a live redesign lab where participants roll up their sleeves and rethink real event challenges in real time. Attendees walk in with assumptions. They walk out with a framework.
Break Down Real Challenges
We'll dissect 2–3 actual event pain points — the kind your teams face every cycle — and expose where energy, engagement, and sponsor value leak out.
Redesign Weak Moments Live
Together, we'll reimagine underperforming sessions, networking blocks, and sponsor touchpoints using experience architecture principles.
Demonstrate Smart Sponsor Integration
Move beyond logo slaps. We'll show how sponsors can become embedded experience partners — creating value that attendees actually appreciate.
Layer Tech With Intention
Optional curated tech partners support real use cases — no sales pitches, just purposeful tools that enhance the attendee journey.
Outcome: Every attendee leaves with a practical redesign framework they can apply immediately to their next event — not just inspiration, but operational tools.

Waves of Change: Attracting Talent to the Marine Industry
Date: Tuesday, May 26
Time: 3:30pm - 4:30pm
Group: ICOMIA + IFBSO Diversity Committee
The marine industry faces a defining challenge: how do we attract the next generation of diverse talent — and ensure our businesses, events, and associations are places where young people see a future?
This session combines short, high-impact speaker stories with an interactive audience workshop and a true panel discussion. The objective is not only to explore why the challenge exists, but to co-create realistic actions that organizations can take forward.
A study has shown that 75% of the global workforce will be Millennial or Gen Z within a decade. And yet many young people do not see themselves represented in the marine industry — or are simply unaware that it offers meaningful careers. This session puts that challenge on the table and asks participants to help solve it.
Expect an energetic, interactive hour: three panelists share personal stories in Pecha Kucha format, a moderated discussion unpacks the barriers, and a structured workshop — powered by Slido — invites every person in the room to contribute ideas and commit to actions they can implement within 12 months.
